Time in Peru
After earning his undergraduate degree, Mr. Goad lived and worked in Peru. While there he got involved with environmental advocacy and coordinated international delegations. Notably, Jacob accompanied CNN crew and Dr. Sanjay Gupta to the town of La Oroya where Mr. Goad introduced Dr. Gupta to residents. The people there lived in the shadow of a toxic metallurgical smelter complex. Mr. Goad attributes his decision to practice workers’ comp. to his experience of interacting with metallurgical and mine workers in Peru.
While in Peru, Mr. Goad was once transported by the Peruvian Air Force into an earthquake zone. He was there to document and photograph the need for aid and funds to support the residents. After being interviewed by CBS, hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised to provide assistance to those in need.
Mr. Goad’s advocacy experience in Peru is useful to him today as he advocates for claimants injured in personal injury matters.
